The Great Awakening

It is interesting to see how things work in the collective human consciousness, and what changes in the way the “general population” thinks about things. What often happens is that a few people start doing something out of the ordinary. They are ridiculed, but then eventually everyone starts doing and thinking the same.

Take running. In the 1950s and 1960s, if you were into long-distance running, people would laugh at you, yell at you, and if you were unlucky, even throw beer cans at you. Then, after Frank Shorter won gold for the USA at the 1972 Summer Olympics, this all changed. Now, running was something truly positive, admirable.

People picked up jogging, and started to run marathons, and it became a hype. More and more marathons were organized, for young and old, and this movement kept growing. Running was no longer weird. No, now it is weird if you are happy with only sitting on your couch and driving in your car, and you don’t pick up running!

I believe that the same thing will happen with spiritual Awakening, with the teaching of pure non-duality. Now there are pioneers like you and me and a couple more, who are genuinely interested in pursuing the path of Awakening from the dream of the world. We are the trendsetters.

What I hope and think is that more and more people will realize that the world can never offer us lasting happiness. Only the Divine, our Source, can give us permanent happiness. Then, a shift in thinking can occur. Then, Awakening to Oneness becomes a mainstream event, not just for a select group of individuals!
